Reindeer-calf-marking after midsummer

After we found the big flock, we had to do hard work! The flock was brought to the reindeer-meadow, where the calf were marked.
Just a few more steps, and they are in!
But it was not so easy to get all of them in. Some of tried to break out!
It was done! Nearly all of them were captured..
Just a bit shop talking and waiting for the last reindeer-breeders. At this time, the reindeers could come down a bit.
Now they calm down and the calfs could strengthen themselfes.
We allowed us something too!
Now they start to mark and to regist all the reindeer calfs of the season. Ask a sami how many reindeers he has, he just smiles back! It would be the same if he asks you about your account balance!
I was fascinated about how fast the sami find their animals only by the mark in the ear of the reindeer!I
One calf without a mark, but the breeder found it!
They got it!
It lasts about 6 hours until all work was done.
We strenghten us after our hard work, and liberated the reindeers!
We made a good job, that's why we were invited to a special reindeer dinner. The women even got a small present for their good job!
Jörgen builded up the "tippi" and made some fire. Now the guests can arrive.
Pretty delicious!!!
After we had done our work, we made trip nortwards to "Ritzem". It was really the end of the road, but it was a real great trip!
There is something you should not miss on such a trip! What....? The elk!....We were lucky, we saw aboutt 8 elks. I even saw 2 out of my plane. All in all it was well done and well organised trip. We were able to help the samis finding their reindeers, and had a lot of fun!
I think we will repeat this next year! If you want to do such a trip too, just call me!
